  • Changes to the Euronext Equities and Indices Symbology

Please be aware that the NYSE Euronext has notified us of an upcoming change in symbology for Euronext Equities and Indices symbols which will go into effect as of August 3, 2009.

All Euronext Equities and Indices symbols will use the new suffix -EEB going forward while the old suffix formats (-AMS, -LIS, -PAR, -BRU) will be retired.

To clarify the following services will be affected:

    Euronext All Indices
    (Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris)
    Euronext Cash BBO 1
    (Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris)

There will be no changes to the LIFFE Derivatives (formerly part of the Euronext exchange). Please note that all historical and intraday data will be moved to the new symbols. Please update your charts, quote windows, formulas, tickers, DDE links, and so forth, with the NEW symbols.

    Examples:

Please refer to our Symbol Guide for a complete list of Euronext Equities and Indices symbols:

If you have any questions regarding this change, please let us know.

    Thank you,

We have just received last minute word from the exchange that this change has being postponed. NYSE Euronext has not given us an ETA on when this will happen. Please continue using the old symbol extensions (-PAR, -BRU, -LIS, -AMS) until further notice.

    Thank you,
    Ray P.

Happy to report that the change-over appeared to go quite smoothly. Historical and intraday data has been moved to the new symbology and no reported user issues thus far.

          Thanks.
