  • Amount of Historial Data for Backtest

    Hi,

I am fairly new to EFS. I am backtesting some simple MA Cross using DAILY charts of $UKX-FTSE and $SPX.

    1. How can I request the max amount of historical data for an instrument, rather than just use the data loaded into the chart by default? In order to get more data for testing, I have to scroll the chart to the left REPEATLY, until I see there is no more data available.

    2. I notice that the amount of hist. data available is different on each server. For SPX, some servers go back to 1986, some only go back to 1998! How can I force log on to a server that has more data?

    Thanks,
    mleung

Use a Time Template to define the amount of data you want to load. For information on Time Templates see this article in the eSignal KnowledgeBase
