  • EFS Automated Trading (Generic Broker) Update – Please Read

The eSignal Formula Scripting Language (EFS) contains a set of functions currently referred to as the Generic Broker. These functions are used for sending trades from EFS to our integrated Brokers. It is recommended that these functions are to be used only for discretionary trading actions. The basic code examples provided in the reference articles illustrate this type of process through the use of chart buttons that require mouse clicks to execute the underlying EFS code that intern submit the trades. The Generic Broker functions do not currently provide the complete set of functionality or fail safes that will allow for true position management and broker account synchronization for auto-trading scenarios.

Starting in Q1 of 2010, our engineering department, which will have new resources focused on all areas of EFS, will begin a review of the Generic Broker in EFS to map out the requirements for enhancing this collection of functions to make EFS a viable tool set for auto-trading capabilities. We hope to have the initial phases available for public beta testing by end Q1 or Q2 2010.

Please continue to use this forum for comments and suggestions which we'll review as we go down this road.

    Thank you,

    Hello EFS Developers,

Thank you for the numerous inquires about this feature. We know this is important to you and we are still planning to implement this functionality. Currently, due to additional development priorities for eSignal 11.0, our resources for this project will not be available until the 11.1 development cycle, which is currently scheduled to begin in January 2011. Please note, that this plan is not final and is subject to change. Currently, we are planning to have this functionality available for public beta testing with the 11.1 release for the IB integration. The beta testing period will last through the 11.2 development cycle with a Gold release of this feature for 11.2. We will add compatibility for our other broker partners that can support it with the 11.2 release or the nearest releases after.

      Hello All,

This project has unfortunately been put on hold and is pending a legal review. At this time, the project is not assigned to any specific version for development. We'll provide another update once we know more.
