  • Heartbleed Security Flaw - Client Advisory

Please read the following Interactive Data Client Advisory.

On April 9, 2014, there were widespread media reports of a security flaw, referred to as “Heartbleed,” in the OpenSSL technology used to secure many types of transmissions over the internet. OpenSSL technology is a global standard, and a number of Interactive Data systems and services employ OpenSSL technology. Interactive Data is actively reviewing all of our web-based systems to identify whether there are any potential vulnerabilities related to this security flaw. We will be taking immediate action to remediate any vulnerable systems identified, and will provide additional instructions to clients as necessary. We expect to provide an update by end of day Wednesday, April 16th, and will provide more specific information to affected clients as available.

Information security is of critical importance to Interactive Data. The confidentiality, integrity and availability of Interactive Data information, systems and networks, as well as data entrusted to us by our customers and business partners, is of the utmost importance.

    Thank you,
    Ray Pineda

While the scanning of these systems is ongoing, to date we have not detected any vulnerability in the internet-facing sites that support the following businesses:
    • Pricing & Reference Data
    • Real-Time Feeds
    • 7ticks®
    • eSignal®
    • FutureSource®
    • Market-Q®
    • IDMS US

If any Heartbleed vulnerabilities are identified, we will deploy patches and provide additional information to clients as available. At this time, it is not a requirement for you to change any password(s) used to access Interactive Data services. However, if you would like assistance to change your password(s), please feel free to contact us for assistance.
