    Hi Jason,
Would either of the following be possible?:

    1) Can the realtime swings efs be altered to display:
    a) the points length of the wave;
    b) the price level of the pivot points;
(See attached efs for potential end result)

    2) If you can't do it, then can the attached efs be altered so that it moves with price when updating in real time (instead of staying in the same place and getting messed up).

    Many thanks,
    Paul

    Hello Paul,

You have some good ideas here. It would be easier to modify the RealTimeSwings.efs to display these items. I'm going to be out of the office for two weeks, starting tomorrow. I'll make some modifications to the study when I return.

        Hello Paul,

As promised, here's the modified formula with the labels you suggested. I also added some input parameters to turn the labels on or off as well as a label to display the % Retracement of the most recent developing swing line. Give this a look and let me know how it works for you. I'll update this study in our formula library in a few days if we don't make any more modifications.

          Jason,

I had just been looking at the study before you modified it here, it is a nice efs and even better now that you have modified it.

I have one suggestion, when I was using the efs on a shorter timeframe, I noticed that when there are several highs of the same magnitude , that the pivot point is defined as the last high.

I was thinking that the pivot would be centered between the first high and the last high. The same thoughts also apply towards multiple lows of equal magnitude.

          For your consideration.

          Regards,

            Hi Jason,
Hope you had a nice break. Thanks a lot for updating the study as promised. As a basic Swing Pivot study it will be a welcome addition to eSignal's efs resources.

In terms of additions to the study, you could add some Fibonacci price retracements / projections, but these are already covered in efs studies available by Chris Kryza.

However, if we simply focus on this study as a basic all round Swing Tool, then a better use of your time could be to add TIME measurements to the study. This could be a valuable addition which is not presently available with an eSignal study like this (to my knowledge). For example, data displayed at the Pivot Points could be:

            A) Price: 109550
            Points: 325
            Bars: 4

            * If you wanted to add in more detailed measurements which would be better:

            B) Price: 109550
            Points & Retracement / Projection Percentage: 325 (0.30%)
            Bars & Retracement / Projection Percentage: 4 (28.6%)

If you think these additions would be beneficial and you have the time, then this would provide an excellent Swing Tool for eSignal users. Let me know what you think.

            Thanks,
            Paul

              Thanks Steve and Paul,

I'll definitely incorporate some of these items suggested here. All great ideas. Thanks for the feedback.

FYI, I've added some more info to the swing labels. Number of bars and the % retracement numbers for each swing. You can find the updated formula in the EFS Library - Discussion Board forum here.

                    Hello Garth,

I just tested it and it's seems to be fine from my end. What error message are you getting?

                        Jason,

Now its working on my end also...before it was a "not found" kind of page.

                        Thanks.

                              Error messages

                              Hi Jason,

                              When using both RealTimeSwings2.efs and the revised RealTimeSwings.efs (Version 1.1 – Updated 4/8/2004) with eSignal 7.6 (Build 634), I repeatedly get #Formula Error# "Syntax Error" pop-ups.

They consistently state: "Line 323: Parameter Number 3 of Function drawTextRelative is invalid" and "Line 328: Parameter Number 3 of Function drawTextRelative is invalid".

I've tinkered with the formula on lines 323 and 328, but I cannot effect a fix. Could you please fix the code on these efs scripts?

                              Thank you,
