Client Advisory: Shellshock
We want to make you aware of the proactive steps that Interactive Data is taking to protect its systems
and servers from the so-called “Shellshock” or Bash bug, widely reported in the media this week after it
was first disclosed. As soon as we became aware of the issue, our Technology Group initiated an
assessment of systems, servers and appliances to identify and remediate vulnerabilities detected.
Actions Being Taken
Scanning for the bug is ongoing and will continue today to identify and remediate vulnerable internet-
facing systems. Patches have been tested and deployed to certain systems, and we will deploy patches
to other appliances and systems as they become available and have been tested. We are proactively
working with vendors who have not yet produced patches and will continue to do so.
Information security is of critical importance to Interactive Data. The confidentiality, integrity and
availability of Interactive Data information, systems and networks, as well as data entrusted to us by our
customers and business partners, is of the utmost importance.
We will provide more information to you as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Alex Goor
