I beleive that the McClellan Oscillator efs in the EFS Database uses simply the $ADD symbol. But over time, as the total number of NYSE symbols changed, using only the $ADD gives a distorted picture.
Now it seems that many sources use the ratio adjusted McClellan Oscillator, where instead applying the McClellan Oscillator calcs to $ADD, the formula ($ADV - $DECL) / ($ADV + $DECL) * 1000 is used in place of $ADD. This would remove the total number of stocks as a variable
I tried modifying the current efs, but it is beyond me. Has anyone done an update to create a ratio adjusted McClellan Oscillator efs?
Thanks
