I have written a study to calculate a sythetic ma. This study determines the ma from one time period, regardless of the chart time period. You can calculate a the level of the 50sma on a 5 min chart, even if the current chart is based on seconds. Use 60s for 1 minute. 99s is the largest bar allowed.
My logic follows...
Figure out what time it is now, easy
Figure out how many bars have been drawn since 930am, easy
figure out which bars are to be used for the ma calc, hard
Add up the closes, easy
Divide by the ma desired, easy
