DDE - Excel - Bar High and Low

I see that it is possible to write an efs to send, via DDE, to excel bar data for example High and Low. What I need to do is to build a column of high and low data. For example if we are using a 30 min chart I would like Column A1 to be the first bar 30 min High, A2 second 30 min High. I would like to build this column as we proceed through the day. Anyone have an idea as to where to start on this. Any ideas and or suggestion would be appreciated.
