  • eSignal Time & Sales Problem

Anyone else notice that eSignal doesn't show pre-market trades from 7am to 8am? Or afterhours trades from 6:30pm to 8:00pm? This seems to only apply to Nasdaq securities.

    Thanks for any info,

    Marc

As you can see in the attached image eSignal does show pre and post market T&S.
You need to click the Properties icon and go to the General tab in the dialog box (also shown in the image)
There you can set the Open and Close times which you probably have as 9:30-16:00 (or equivalent if in a different time zone).
    Hope this helps

      I see now, thanks.

      Just a couple other questions:

What's that blue box with the little arrow next to the minimize box all about? I'm using the latest version (7.2) and don't have that?

And lastly, what is tick filtering?

      Thanks,

      Marc

That is the window pop-out feature that is currently undergoing early testing. It will allow for windows of the eSignal program to be placed outside of the application.

As the name implies Price Filtering is used to filter out spikes caused by a bad tick.
It constantly measures across three bars and uses the outer bars to define an acceptable range. If the bar in the middle goes beyond that range then that bar will be filtered at the high/low of the range and the "filtered" portion will be marked in a different color.
The range at which the filter kicks in has a default setting but can be modified by the user.
While Price Filtering does not filter out a bad tick as it happens it does help to ensure that an out of range bar will not negatively affect indicators.
