So don't try and make a fool out of me
With all due respect I don't think Scott needs to do that since you seem to be doing a pretty good job of it yourself.
    A happy eSignal customer

Woohoo!!! A single satisfied customer, that's always a great start, anyone else on the payroll wanna pop in here and praise the GREAT COMPANY we call eSignal, open invitation to do so, if the staff don't mind.

But you know what, my issue is not with you. It isn't even with Scott, he is paid to suckup to this company.

No big deal. I'll just laugh this issue away because what goes around comes around, eSignal is just going a little slower than others.

        Hello Scott

I know this is not directly related to the topic at hand here,
but as you are so in-the-know and try to be so helpful I
hope you will consider the following in the next release
        of eSignal.

When you have a volume spike, the bars that follow
are shown only as specks. When you drag the volume
scale up to expand the bars, the bars do expand
but at the same time they go down below the bottom
border of the volume pane and are no longer visible.
If you could then put your pointer in the volume
pane and drag the bars up as a whole in their
expanded state, that would be fine. But that function
is not available in the volume pane as it is in
        the price pane.

It would seem so simple to add the same adjusting
function to the volume pane that you have in the price
pane, or even just an expand/contract icon. All first class
charts, and even most free software, allow you to adjust the volume bars. Reuters, Bloomberg, they all have it.

I brought this up once before and Alexis provided a link to
a program that someone had written (thank you Alexis).
I envy those with the ability to write and apply solutions to such problems and to create custom-made charts. But I prefer to subscribe to charts that already have the basic functions. I simply can't understand how eSignal has gone to such great lengths over the years to make what are clearly 'better than most' charts while not taking care to fix this most basic problem.

Scott, I know you have your priorities. But it would seem that
the ability to adjust and view the volume bars should be way
up on your list. And as it is a functon that exists now in the price
pane, I'll bet you guys could fix this problem before lunch!!

Thank you for taking the time to read this,
        Jay

I wouldn't say I'm completely unhappy, I think they're doing e decent job, with room for improvement to be sure... but you could count me in the happy camp too.

            More broken promises from esignal.

They said the upgrade would come in the middle of the month. We're now at the end of the month and they've come through with nothing. The sound of silence is deafening.

In true Esignal style they have once again overpromised and underdelivered.

So, wtf is the problem now eSginal. Are you still "HARD AT WORK" for your customers.

What BS excuses can we have now as to the delay to eSignal.

PLEASE.... PLEASE... GIVE ME ALL THE BS immediately so I can relay it to your customers. I love to keep up with the delaying of promises and such. Real class from a company such as eSignal that cares about it's customers.

              eSignal 8.0

              Hello JMowery,

8.0 is coming along. We would rather it be a little later and fix what we consider a serious bug then hit the middle of the month. Probably see the final release candidate next week.

We also are working on releasing a new trading front end in May for all eSignal users that will work with about 10 trading execution systems that we are very excited about.

Lots of good stuff in the pipeline for our customers.

                Jeeez, settle down guys.

Trading for me is only part time. Full-time I am a programmer. Deadlines slip every day. However, it would be nice to have an honest update every week or so -- both technical and non-technical explanations, not marketing-driven. (There may be one somewhere. I haven't looked.) If the programmers at eSignal are anything like other programmers, they're working as hard as they can to fix outstanding issues. It just takes time especially with large complex systems. No news allows opinions like those on this thread to fester and grow, damaging a company's reputation. We ALWAYS keep our customers informed, and they show their appreciation with repeat and referral business.

We'll have more information to post on this within the next few weeks as our internal beta testing comes to a close. Thanks for the interest!
                      Regards,

For me 7.9 is working fine. I would rather let eSignal make sure every thing was working properly before it was release.

Or do we get excuses or delays. I'm used to them. ProphetX is seeming like a great alternative right about now. I'm giving eSignal one last shot to impress otherwise I'm gone.

I cannot wait for eSiganl 8.0 to arrive. In the meantime, I will make do with 7.9.1 on my creaking old hardware with my oh so simple system that makes me 10 ticks net after commision a day. :-)

Ohhhhh - I might not even upgrade if it takes more resources on my old hardware.

You know what - I quite like 7.9.1. My bottom line is just fine with it.

eSignal - Take your time. I don't fancy upgrading my hardware anytime soon!!!!!!

Well...tomorrow was looking solid but a beta tester found a possible problem tonight so we shall see. At the very least, it's close at hand.

                                Thanks.
