  • Overlaying MA over RSI??

    Hello,
just started working with eSignal Advanced Charts and have a need to overlay a Simple MA (SMA) which I can attach to the price window over a RSI study.

I couldn't work out how this works and I am wondering if this is possible?

If so, how can I overlay a MA study over a RSI?

    Thanks for any help.

Either hold down the shift key then the left mouse button and drag the RSI
    onto the ma

    or

    use the control key instead.

      MA over RSI

      Thank you for answering.

But it doesn't work with me.

Studies which a above the horizontal line (parabolic, MA etc) appears directly in the price window.

Studies below the horitontal line are placed in a separate pane.

Moving the "pane studies" into the price field works fine. But I couldn't work out whether you can move a MA over a RSI eg.

Try it: select MA and then RSI. And try to move the MA into RSI pane.

It's just my assumption and I am not sure whether there is way to realize this.

The attached efs will plot the MA as an indicator in a separate pane. All parameters for the study can be modified through Edit Studies.
Once you have loaded the efs into the chart clcick and drag the MA window in the RSI window while keeping the <Shift> key pressed.

          MA over RSI

          Alexis,
thank you very much for your help.

And I apologize for not being more precisely.

I wanted to, let me say, "drag" a MA over a eg RSI and to have exactly the RSI as the underlying base for the MA - that is the important issue for me. That means that the MA is calculated on the RSI in this case.

For example: In MetaStock you can drag an Indicator which is in the price pane over another indicator and define that "not" the price is the underlying base but the actually choosen study eg, MO, RSI etc.

That was or is what I am looking for. How can I realise this?
Maybe something like this must be already there, but I can't find it.

Again, thanks for helping and for any hints to realize that.

No problem. You can't drag an MA from one window to another and have it calculate based on what is in the other window. You need to write a script to do that.
Anyhow you can find MAofRSI.efs in this group in FileShare. Download it to your computer and save it to any one of the subfolders of Formulas. All parameters for the RSI and the MA can be modified through Edit Studies.

Is there another Group for Fibonacci Retracement tools?

I really would not know although I suspect that there is.
Try doing a Search for keyword Fibonacci. The search engine is pretty efficient.
