  • Terrible ! Data

    Terrible Data.....

    the last two weeks!

What has changed to cause this?

How can a software and feed that has been
stable for so many years (actually never really
fantastic, but just good enough to keep using it)

And is so much easier to use than that arcane
eSignal platform. That with every new update
    has the same old stuff!

Q Chart interface was better and easier to use ten
years ago than eSignal 10 is now. And it is just prettier
too! (Personal comment) Eric Hunsader originator of the
first version of Q Charts had more of an artistic eye am
    assuming.

How about the eSignal software engineers looking at
Q Charts "alerts" (one click easy to use), retracement tool
(with 20 levels and the ability to change line widths, and other tools.

Have talked with eSig reps at trade shows and emailed
suggestions, but nothing ever changes on that old eSignal
dog. The new 10 "looks" the same as the verision I
used six years ago. An suggestion emails never get
even a robotic reply, glad there is this forum.

Any info on the current feed issues greatly appreciated.

This feed issue is really frustrating!
    thanks, Z

    • No Weekly or Daily Chart for $INDU

I cannot get a D or W chart to paint for $INDU. Intraday time frames seem to be working fine for $INDU. Other indices such as $NDX, $COMPX and $OEX look fine on all timeframes. What's up!?

      • QCharts 6.0.2

Daily and Weekly charts: $INDU painting candles on 7/14/08 and 10/02/08. $COMPQ painting candle on 9/24/08. $BIX is painting a candle on 9/23/08...

I already closed QC and DM and restarted and still getting these future candles.

Please correct these false candles. I didn't check all of the symbols on my workspace. I gave up after seeing these (the first three on the workspace). Unusable as is.

        Thanks,
        Tom

        • QCHARTS 6.0.3

I now see this problem with SPX charts (for example) of missing candles.

Infact AAARRRRGGGHHH Just seen that everyday is missing candle data from 13:00 EST until close onwards (pull up a 5 min SPX chart). Just checked DOW, NDX, ES also and same problem on all.

Looks like a problem with mkthours.inf.

Can someone please correct this asap.

          • 6.0.2

            All charts are blank.

            Everytime I log in I get ......

"Expanded Corporate actions information has been downloaded ...."

"Expanded session information has been downloaded ...."

It then tells me to restarts, yet everytime I restart I get the same messages and still no charts.

So this morning I have issues with 6.0.3 (see post below)and 6.0.2.

Can we please get them working asap.

            K

            • K,

It's not an issue with MktHours. It's a bug in 6.0.3. The MktHours file used by 6.0.X is the exact same one used in 5.1. The MktHours file is downloaded from a 5.1 server when running 6.0.X. 6.0.X connects to both the eSignal data farms and the 5.1 Continuum farms

                  K,

                  fwiw, 6.0.2 running here.

                  tradertom...
if you're reading this, I'm not seeing in 6.0.2 the "displaced into the future" candles you mentioned last weekend. Which, btw, I also saw at that time. I'm guessing that active data flowing today has mitigated the bug.

I am getting a security violation on the embedded announcements web page that pops up in the login window. This is happening on 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 this morning.

                            Khalsa,

Are you running Vista per chance? Those messages are displayed when a new CorpActs.tab is downloaded or when a new MktHoursEsignal.tab is found on the server and Vista prevents those files from making it to the expected location. This causes that error message to appear. To correct this, put QCharts into XP SP2 Compatibility Mode and Admin mode as per this KB article.
                            Regards,
                            Jay F.

                            • Hi Jay,

I am still on XP 32 bit SP3 and it was working fine last week.

very curious what is happening with it. I have never seen that before.

6.0.3 is now unusuable for me with all that missing data on all those charts due to the US holiday. Can this not be fixed easily?

                              Thanks in advance.

                              K

                              • Right Jay, I completed uninstalled QCharts 6.0.2 and then did a fresh install and that has got 6.0.2 working for me which I shall use for now.

As soon as the "post and pre holiday missing data" fix is available for 6.0.3 I shall go back to testing that.

Any idea when this will be.

                                Thanks.
