  • Back Testing

I have been a user of QCharts for over 5 years and have found it to be the most flexible product on the market. I am dismayed to find that there will be no capability to back-test specific months (other than the #F function). Having been instructed by the people at customer service that this will not be corrected in the future, I am contemplating switching over to e-Signal.

Before I do that, I want to make sure I was not mis-informed about this feature (specifically, Lumber: LB F2007, LB H2007. etc).

    Please advise....thank you

We are looking to change the way symbols are verified in a future version of QCharts, which will solve this issue. Currently, QCharts requests a snapshot of the data to verify the validity of the symbol, if no data is returned within a certain time-frame, then the symbol is assumed as not being valid. We'll be switching over to a different methodology similar to what eSignal uses, and symbols like LB H2007 will work after that happens.

QCharts 6.1 should have this functionality, but we're still 2-3 months out on that. If you can't wait until that time-frame, then eSignal is a great alternative.
