  • My trading day with QCharts

8AM It is going to be a nice day here in the east I should make sure that QC on the laptop has the latest symbols and workspaces. Oh no, I can't login at all! The login process on the desktop has been pretty slow lately but it usually resolves itself. This won't work at all. Guess I'm stuck inside all day.

10:30 Ah, my $2 biotech is up 12 cents! Nice! Oh, but wait, what's with the volume - it looks very light. Let's see, the daily chart says 27k so far today, but the 15-min says more than that just in the last few minutes. Oh, that's right, QC doesn't update the volume properly. I'd better go to my broker's website and find out what's really going on.

11:15 Just clicking on the symbols, looking for trades, uh oh, what's this? XYZ bidding 20 asking 80 in the middle of the day? What gives here? Oh, I see, it's the latest QCharts bug. It looks like it's mixing up the data for this symbol with the one above it so that when it updates last sale they both show the same price even though in reality they are $60 apart. How can anyone trade with this software? I am now too aggravated to try and trade any more today. I'm putting in my stops and calling it a day. When I return I'm going to have to give some serious thought as to whether I want to keep paying $100/mo for this aggravating software.
