  • Why does Q charts want customers to go to competition?

Recently it was announced that qcharts futures contracts like ES are only available on 6.0 +.

This is really sad and disappointing for qcharts because historical data is not available on ES 06 Z on 6.1 for example which always was there on 5.1.

So if you develop a new strategy and want to test it out historically they are forcing you to find a different data vendor.

You can use ES #F in v6. This will give you daily on up data up until 9/9/1997. Everyone is still waiting for the intraday data that is available to v5.

When you use #F instead of the Month/Year you will see the futures all put together in one symbol. You can check out this post for a better description on how #F works.

      A few points:
      - actually it was announced that CME emini contracts would still be available on v5.x - so ES08Z or ES06Z should work fine on v5.x. (Watch the symbol typos - no spaces as in your original post allowed on 5.x)
      - The futures contracts that were removed from the v5 feed were all the ones *other* than the CME eminis.
      - v6.1 isn't out yet. Perhaps you were actually refering to 6.0.2 or 6.0.3.1366?

        Keep 5.1 A Bit Longer....

5.1 has a lot of goodies for the option quote sheets that 6.x betas do not. Granted 5.1 is not very accurate until later at night when the servers catch up, but at least the data is available. Let's keep 5.1 around until 6.x has everything that's listed in the Clear Down and it is accessable on the option quote sheets. That would be very helpful.

        Thanks for the great program.
