  • x1819 Lines/Notes Appear/Disappear - repeatable

A new bug in x1819 is the disappearance / reappearance of lines and notes on charts. I have replicated this in multiple workspaces - from very big ones to the smallest possible (with only one chart and one quote sheet).

Simply stated, notes/lines put on a chart, and then typing another symbol into a quote sheet will cause the lines to disappear. Returning to the chart via the quote sheet will then cause them to reappear. Over and over.

Additionally, the same thing occurs when typing the new symbol into the chart.

Run the test for yourself - see the pic for test parameters - it'll take about 30 seconds.

    Hi Carol,

I tried the test on my setup (6.2.0.1819) and was able to replicate your results. I also tried it on the 1757 build and the text did not disappear as it did in the most recent build. I don't know what they changed in the software other than the new options symbols but I am surprised that labels and lines broke as a result! I just find that quite odd.

I hope they can get this fixed.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Tom or Carol, is the work around to not be typing new symbols into a quotesheet or to change to another symbol and then back if you do type a new one in?

        Jim,

I've been doing both. I like to keep my regular Quote Sheet filled with symbols I look at every day and then create a 2nd Quote Sheet every night with the prime expected movers for the next day. Creating that new Quote Sheet causes - for me - the adventure of disappearing/reappearing lines/notes.

So, for a workaround, if you want to create a second/new Quote Sheet, just know that you'll have the opportunity to go back and forth multiple times to ensure your lines/notes are all still there.

Best I know to offer until QC gets this bug fixed.
