  • Has anyone used QCharts via Satellite Internet?

I found a house I am thinking about purchasing, but there is no DSL or Cable internet. So far not having internet is a big deal breaker.

I am looking into possible solutions. Currently a T1 costs about $380 (1.54 Mbs) a month, ISDN will be around $130 (128k), and Satellite is about $60 (1Mb down, 128K up).

Does anyone have any experience using qcharts with satellite or ISDN?

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hey Jim,
Every single time I've helped a user on HughesNet or WildBlue or Starband or whatever, it's never been good.

The bottom line is this: Satellite internet is not good for streaming data applications. Too much latency. Good luck getting the sat companies to tell you this - but I can tell you in the years I've been talking to users it's never been a good story.

    More info - for example:

    Just my $0.02 worth.....
