    Migraine,

i have Global Server Version: 5.00.0822.
    I installed Esignal 7.7 and the plug-in for TS2000i.
Every thing works without any problems at all. Normally technical support is not necessary.
I have realtime feed and i can update the charts for the hours i missed.
So i don't understadn why you need a 3rd party vendor that has an updated interface to eSignal's datafeed, if you have TS2000i and Esignal you have all you need.
Or didn't i understand the question well?

      Thank you spike500,

I am currently using eSignal's client application with the following specifcations.

      Version 7.3(Build)5/7/2003

OPTIONS.DLL eSignal Option Analyics DLL Build 7, Created on 05/07/2001

      DBCAPI.DLL TurboFeed API Version 1.0 5/7/2003 (B4)

      Internet 6.0.2800.1106

Copyright 2003 eSignal, A divison of Interactive Data Corporation

Does the version 7.7 address the issue with regards to the Data Manager's Time Synchronization?

Let me see if I can clarify my concerns.

Using my version of eSignal's client application the TimeZone settings are defaulted to GMT Daylight Time, which is not GMT Zulu time.

There is an offset capabilities with the 7.7 build?

Again thank you for bringing this to my attention.

It sure would be nice if there was a way that eSignal could inform the user's of TS2000i updates, instead of the user's monitoring the updates.

It is not eSignal's responsibility to inform you of the updates of a third party program. That is your responsibility.
Furthermore there have been no updates for TS2k since Service Pack 5 (build 822) and that was years ago.

          Alex,

I did not say it was eSignal's "responsibility" to inform TS2000i users of any updates.

All I was suggesting it would be a great service to subscriber's of eSignal of any changes that may take effect.

TS2k is no longer an available product (except in some countries) and as I said there have been no updates since Service Pack 5 which was years ago.

              Thank you Alex,

Does this mean that the version 7.7 address all of my concerns?

I use eSignal version 7.9 and do not have any problems and Spike has indicated that he has no problems either using version 7.7.

                  Migraine,

                  what Alexis says is correct:
last version of TS2000i was upgrade 5.
                  Esignal 7.7 synchronizes time.

                  All works perfect.

                    Thank you Alex and Spike,

I have 3 different time stamps for the same data set using the 7.9 or the 7.3 versions.

Sounds like Migraine just didn't say it right, Alexis. As all of us are using eSignal - and those of us that are here are using TS2000i - it would seem that what he meant was that it would be nice if eSignal could inform the users of TS2000i about updates to eSignal - not, as you've assumed, updates to TS2000i.

I would go an additional step - eSignal should inform all its users about upgrades to its product. I know that Jay has also said that its not eSignals reasonability to inform its users - however, I have several programs that do just that - they inform me of any updates that are available. Doesn't seem like such a big deal.

In fact it would seem that Migraine just gave eSignal a good idea, but it would also seem that eSignal (Jay) doesn't think so. I wonder why the hostility from eSignal? Yes, it did sound hostile. The first thing eSignal does, in no uncertain terms, is deny that it has any responsibility for any thing.

eSignal does that regularly on its web page at www.esignal.com and in this Bulletin Board

                          Larry,

We certainly do inform our users about upgrades to all of our products. All of our eSignal subscribers who have valid contact email addresses recieve The Exchange (eSignal's monthly newsletter,) where we announce each new version of eSignal's products. You can view an archive of The Exchange by clicking on the The Exchange link at the top of this forum.

eSignal prides itself on its embrace of our user's suggestions and comments. While we cannot implement every suggestion, we do read through every post and idea sent in, and take into account what is most requested when we make business decisions. Our business is dynamic; we are in a constant state of self-evaluation, so all of our client's comments are important to us.

Your statement is false. As mentioned above, eSignal does and will continue to inform its users of new releases for all of it's products. In your last paragraph, it seems that you are trying to stir the pot and mislead others. I have not responded since Migraine posted his suggestion, so I couldn't have stated what you claim. Further posts from you with a similar intent may be deleted or edited for content, and further action beyond that may also be taken.

If you would read my post - it should be obvious that I'm talking about automatic notification - just the same way that several of my programs do right now.

Excuse me - I did in fact misstate that. It was Alexis that stated eSignals policy - not eSignal.

Further action is already being taken - by me. You do what you think you need to do.
