daily data but no intraday data

i have installed the active x plug in and have tried to get historical data for commodities that i do not subscribe to real time. i can get daily data but i cannot get - but i cannot get tick or 1 minute data - i have checked the correct boxes.

should i be able to get the intraday data - and if so any suggestions on what i should try to do.

no - i have no data subscription realtime or delayed for these commodities that i was trying to bring in data for.

In that case you will not be able to download intraday data as you have already found out. You would need at least a delayed subscription to those markets to access intraday data.
