Due to the Energy Act of 2005, Daylight Savings Time (DST) will be expanded by a total of four weeks, starting in March 2007. Daylight Savings will start three weeks earlier this year and last one week longer into November.

    U.S.C. 260a(a)) is amended--

    ``second Sunday of March''; and
    (2) by striking ``last Sunday of October'' and inserting
    ``first Sunday of November''.

    (b) Effective Date.--Subsection (a) <<NOTE: 15 USC 260a
note.>> shall take effect 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act
or March 1, 2007, whichever is later.
In order for your Microsoft Windows operating system to automatically adjust for these new DST start and end dates, you must download a Microsoft patch.

As long as you update your system with this new patch, we anticipate that all of our products will perform normally during these DST changes.

      Attention Quotrek Users!

The expansion of Daylight Savings Time (DST) could cause problems for the various PDA's. Users running Quotrek on Windows Mobile, Pocket PC, Smartphone, BlackBerry and Palm are advised to download and run the appropriate patches listed below.

      Microsoft

Microsoft's DST solution involves installing three files on your device or PC. These include a Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Update, Daylight Saving Time 2007 Update Tool, and a Outlook Time Zone Update Tool. There are instructions for Windows Mobile users who connect to a PC (a PC-based installer file) and those who do not (a cab file).

      RIM

You will find RIM's BlackBerry DST patch and instructions on how to implement it. DST patches are available for all BlackBerry devices running version 4.0.0 or newer device software. IT administrator's can push the patch to their BlackBerry users.

      Palm

Palm is offering updates for its handhelds affected by the change in Daylight Saving Time (DST)

DST update for MarketCenter LIVE and FutureSource Xtra users:

Step 1: Download and run the Microsoft patch listed in the original message below.

Step 2: Update to the latest version of Java. Version 5.0 Update 11 can be found here:

Explanation: Since most programs get there time reckoning capabilities from the Operating System, the Microsoft OS patch will cover most programs like eSignal. However, MarketCenter LIVE and FutureSource Xtra are written in Java running under Sun's JVM and are not so fortunate. Java software allows you to run applications called "applets" that are written in the Java programming language. Sun's JVM has it's own built in time calculation, and unfortunately, it is embedded in the JVM in such a way that it isn't a simple patch that can be applied to any version of the JVM - you actually have to install the latest Java version from Sun.

For more on Java, click here.

            Attention eSignal users:

In light of the changes to Daylight Savings, those eSignal users that have selected the "Auto" Time Template in their Advanced Charts will need to manually adjust the start and end times. Currently for West Coast users (Pacific Time) following Equities, the "Auto" Time Template is set for 7:30 - 14:00 instead of 6:30 - 13:00. For instructions to edit Time Templates in eSignal please CLICK HERE.

Please note that all other Time Templates (i.e. 24 Hours, West Coast, East Coast, etc.) are in full working order.

            Thank you,
            Ray P.

              Attention Advanced GET Real-time users:

Please note that the previously mentioned downgrade from version 9.0.0.20 (build 20) to 9.0.0.15 (build 15) was required to cover the 3 week shift in Daylight Savings. The DST settings had been hard coded in the software which required users to implement build 15 during this time period (3/11/07 - 3/31/07). Effective 4/01/07, GET RT Dashboard subscribers will need to upgrade to back to build 20 to avoid missing any intraday bars. Please follow these instructions to upgrade to build 20. We expect to announce the official release of 10.0 by April.

For GET End Of Day users CLICK HERE.

              Thank you,
              Mike R.
