    Single Contributor Quotes

eSignal now provides single contributor quotes so you can track a specific bank or broker’s quotes and even create spreads against the composite symbol.

    Composite Symbol Format: GBP A0-FX
    Single Contributor Format: GBP@FXCM A0-FX, GBP@GAIN A0-FX, etc

When using a composite symbol, you are seeing quotes from close to 200 different contributors across the globe. When using a single-contributor quote, you’ll only see updates from that lone contributor. With single contributor symbols, you will likely see a tighter spread and quotes that more closely match those being provided by your Forex broker (assuming you are using their individual contributor symbol). Most contributors only support a subset of all world currencies so not all cross rates are available with each contributor’s set of individual symbols.

In addition, while our daily history on most composite symbols dates back to 1997, our history on most single contributor symbols began collecting in May 2006.

Precision on GBP (British Pound) rolling back to 4 digits

Due to a high number of requests from customers, we will be changing the precision for British Pound (GBP) rates from 5 digits back to 4 digits as of 06/29/07.

    5 digit resolution: 1.99300
    4 digit resolution: 1.9930

The 5th digit of resolution represents 1/10th of a PIP and the majority of contributors still only quote/trade to 4 digits of resolution. There are individual contributors that support 1/10th of a PIP (or the 5th digit of resolution) so if you enter a single contributor symbol (see above for examples) for that broker, you will see the 5th digit displayed in eSignal.

If you have any questions regarding these changes, please feel free to Contact Us for further assistance.

    Thanks,
    Ray P.
