  • ICE US (formerly NYBOT) closes pit end of Feb 08

Back on December 13, 2007, ICE announced that it would end open-outcry trading for futures contracts by the end of February 2008. Click here for official notice.

As a result, starting March 2, 2008, the ICE Futures US symbols that end in =2 (for pit trading) will no longer update. We will continue to send data under the =1 (electronic trading) symbol for the remainder of next week to make the transition a little easier on users.

To illustrate further, starting Monday, here's how Cocoa symbols will behave:

CC N8 (no change and is the symbol all users should use going forward).

CC N8=1 (will equal data sent on CC N8 but will only be valid next week. If using =1 symbols on ICE US contracts, please remove =1).

CC N8=2 (reflect pit trading only so no longer a valid symbol).

For a complete list of symbols on ICE Futures US, please see KB article 2848.

    Thank you.

Reminder: The open-outcry trading session has been discontinued by the ICE Futures US (formerly NYBOT). As previously mentioned, only the CC N8 format will be supported going forward. The =1, =2, and #F format's have been discontinued.

eSignal users have the option of creating User Defined Continous Contracts (CC 1!). This feature can be found under Tools, Continuous Contracts Settings (not available with Quotrek/MarketCenter Live). For more on configuring this eSignal tool please see KB article 2258.

As an added benefit of this change, we are excited to announce that bid and ask quotes will now be available for contracts traded on the ICE Futures US (formerly NYBOT).

    Thank you,

We've had a few inquiries from users asking how to obtain the Settlement Price in light of this change. The Settlement Price field can be added directly to the Quote window by right clicking on an existing field and selecting Add Field. Select Settlement Price and click ok. Additionally there is a Settlement Date field that can also be added to avoid confusion when the settlement price is for a prior day (versus prior session).

                Thank you,
                Ray P.
