Active X Limits

Hi,

I would like to receive stream of real time quote for 800 symbols using the active x.

Is it reasonnable? If not what is the current limit with 7.7?

Getting real-time quotes on 800 symbols via ActiveX is probably taxing that system a tad. Our new API will be able to handle thousands of real-time quotes.

The XML API?? or an improvement of the active x?

The ActiveX API makes out of processes calls to eSignal, so there is a technical limitation with the number of symbols that be passed through in real-time. Our new API will be able to handle more because it's architecture is different.

Hi Robi,

I think he is wondering if the new API will support all the features of the current ActiveX API (history, time and sales, and quotes). From the one chart I saw, the XML API is a quote-only API? In your comments you just mentioned a "new" API without specifying if you were referring to the XML API.

I would rather not discuss the details of our new API at this point and only comment that we are currently developing a more robust API to our retail client base.
