  • Winsig process in Task Manager

I have noticed that sometimes a winsig.exe process continues to exist in the Task Manger after an application using ActiveX shuts down. The following windows messaging code was suggested as a way to kill that process in an On_Closing() event of your application:

    GlobalFindAtom(winsig.exe)

I haven't tried it, but one of the users I talked to in the past few days said that it works.

    winsig.exe

it happened sometimes, when i close my ActiveX application, got Crash error, when i try to cancel the crash, it happened again and again, so in the task manager, i found Winsig.exe is still there, but GlobalFindAtom() only used to find it but not kill it. any better suggestion to deal with these problem>

You can use 7.9 Beta when it becomes available.

I'm having the same problem. When will 7.9 be available?

7.9 Beta/1 was released last week. You can find it in the "7 Series Beta" fileshare:
