eSignal Control API Documentation

I see references made to Standard eSignal API and eSignal Control API in the Developer Reference document but I cannot get a hold on any documents explaining them in detail. All I could find on the website was Desktop API. I am planning to write an application in .NET which will collect data every n minutes and do some analysis. If someone could explain me the differences in these API or point me to some documentation that will be great. I am planning to monitor more than 500 symbols at a time. Thanks.

I should let you know that the Desktop API is the only product that is available to our retail customers.
