Which Server Operating System can be used with eSignal's API?

I am a non-programmer planning to have an in-house trading application built using eSignal's API and data. I also have a non-trading Internet business and its web applications all use Linux/LAMP. So I am most familiar with Linux.

However, to my eyes it appears eSignal's API is designed to be used in a Windows/Microsoft operating system.

Am I correct? Is Linux a non-starter/problematic? Which operating system would you suggest? Especially if you suggest Windows, a specific OS would be very helpful.

Hi Robert,

You are correct that eSignal is designed to work with Windows. Linux is not supported. Windows XP is a known good OS. We have not tested extensively with Vista.

Also, (since you mentioned web applications) please note that distribution of real-time data via a website is not permitted unless you become Vendor of Record. All of your users will need to have an instance of eSignal running on their desktop.
