Is this Active X Development Kit free for individual end user? How many symbols can it access? Thanks.

  • #2
The kit uses active X to connect to the eSignal program so you have the same access and limits as you would in using eSignal. There will be a charge to activate the entitlement which hasn't been determined yet and then a recurring monthly charge to keep it active.

This is similar to the API that we stopped making available to users several years ago, but it's much easier to code for active X and has better safeguards in place to protect our servers.

We're in a beta test with developers and a few end users and will make this openly available to end users in July.

    Thank you,

      Charging for Active-X

It would be really helpful if we could take simple data feed extracts of specific Index data out of eSignal without having to pay for it all over again?

This is only a minor enhancement to taking the usual data dump that is integrated into the tool.

Perhaps you could provide a delayed version of the API functions for ordinary users that simply want to update files, models, spreadsheets and do not wish to develop fancy real-time trading signals.

This would be simple to implement ... retrieve all ticks minus the 100 most recent ticks or something along those lines???

      Thanks,

Thank you for the feedback. Since we're just in the early stages of this tool, I don't think we'll be able to add additional functionality to check for RT or Delayed usage especially since we currently only have an on/off entitlement available, but I'll forward this to the development group of the new tool.

        Thank you,
