  • Invalid symbol with API

    Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with historic data request. Using the API development, we downloaded no problem historic data in the past (1 month ago), but today the API returns the message "Invalid symbol" for any esignal symbol that I submitted as "SP #F" for S&P Future or "$SPX" for S&P500.

Is there a problem with the network or historic data server?

    Thanks for your helps.

We are not aware of server issues on our end. If you put in the two symbols ($SPX and SP #F) in your eSignal quote window, do you receive data for it?

Are you calling the RequestHistory method to obtain daily bars?

      Thanks for prompt reply.

Yes, I did it. The soft worked well until now. I think it could be a problem with the firewall on our main SBS server.
Could you tell me if the following ports should be opened in TDP or UDP?

      as described in Esignal doc:
      Esignal need some ports opened.
Port 2189 - Connection Manager and Financial Quotes Server (required)
Port 2194 - Daily History Server (required for historical data)

so I can ask system administrator to open them for me.

      Thanks and best regards

The information you listed below is correct. I have also attached a KB article on firewall ports below:

The ports should be opened for both TCP and UDP traffic.
