Can I use Visual basic Scripting to communicate with E-Signals API

Now I know some of you might read that question and say duh!

I'm Junior in this league and need a little expert advise, so excuse my ignorance be kind and just give me the best reply you can. (Even some code would be nice )

I can only use Visual basic scripting for what I want to do.

I simply want to extract running real-time stock quotes and indices into variables, nothing more at this stage. Similar to the DDE sample in Excel.

Using Visual Basic (Full Version) I have written code that can use DDE to communicate with E-Signal. But Visual Basic Scripting has DDE removed.

If you would be so kind as to point me in the right direction (books, websites etc...), I can take it from there.
