    Hi Simon,

So I guess the question is why do we have the option of passing <starttime> and <endtime> if it isn't used when returning the data to us? Or am I missing something? What specifically happens if you pass in values for those two fields?

    Cheers... George

Hmm, I might be confused about this, but I don't have time to look deeper before my flight leaves. For now, please disregard what I said about starttime and endtime.

      Sorry for the confusion,

      Simon.

Just as a quick heads-up to the forum, Simon will be out the remainder of the year on vacation for the holidays. So if anyone has any remaining questions, please create a new thread in this forum, and I or GenSpoo will do what we can to help.

It looks like we got some major questions answered, and some great features added for 7.6. I'm not sure of an exact date on when the 7.6 beta will start, but my best guess is within the next few weeks (likely after the holidays.)
        Regards,

          1. Many times when I call RequestHistory () for a particular symbol, no data is returned. While my program is in the process of waiting, if I go to the eSignal File menu and select New / Advanced Chart, and change the symbol and interval in the chart to what I am waiting for, instantly the data is also returned to my program as well. So to free up a “stuck” symbol in my app, I am constantly manually entering it into a chart in eSignal. I do not know what causes a symbol to be stuck, but once it gets stuck, it will remain stuck and inaccessible to the API until I manually enter it into a chart in eSignal [/B]

Just using eSignal as a user with four charts linked to symbols in a Quote window shows this sort of inconsistency as well. The four slave windows do not always change or set themselves to the selected line of the quote window. Usually this is when first starting up the program.

Normally this clears up by selecting another symbol then going back to the desired symbol, but there is generally something lagging here.

            Symbols limit

It would be nice to know the symbols limit of current account in ActiveX

            The original question is there

              Schedule for 7.6 Beta?

We haven't heard anything in a while. When is 7.6 Beta with the API fixes and enhancements going to be available to developers?

We should have 7.6 Beta out either at the end of this week or early next week, and this should contain the fixes and enhancements Simon mentioned in this thread.

                  Portfolio Files

Hey I am trying to generate portfolio files with another application. Is there anything you can do to help me out with the file format of the .POR files?

                  Thanks,

                  Rob

                    Portfolio file format

I have this need as well, as will other developers.

ESignal should publish the file format for portfolio files, quote windows, and if possible charts/advanced charts.

Hey thanks for your reply. Can you please reply to the thread I started on Portfolio files as this may get lost in the rest of the replies.

                      Thanks,

                      Rob

Just a quick FYI that I'm closing this thread to new posts to keep new suggestions and ideas to their own threads (so we don't dilute any particular suggestion by entwining other suggestions with it.) If you have any suggestions or comments on the API, please post it as a new thread.

                        Thanks.
                        Regards,
