Can I Read Headlines Directly from Server?

I understand from the forum that headlines are not currently in the desktop API. Can I connect to the news server at CM*.esignal.Com if I follow a specific TCP/IP protocol using my username and password?

News data is currently not supported in the Desktop API.

We are heavily considering adding it in our next release.
