I have just sent an email to the activex support.

The problem I am having with the activex is speed of reading data
back. I am starting to think this might just be a threading problem.

Is it correct the thread that carries the data ready events should be return immediately or it will cause esignal to block?

I am about to experiment with creating a new thread from the data arrived event to read the data out.

I have not received your e-mail, but if you would like to discuss the Standard API, please call in and ask for sales. As far as speed concerns go, you will start to notice performance issues when you reach close to 300 symbols. The API is a little tricky to develop with and it may take some trial-and-error before you get accustomed to its request/response mechanisms.
