GetCurrentLinkingSymbol won't die

Using 7.7 Release Candidate: Any suggestions on exterminating the CurrentLinkingSymbol? this causes unwanted firing of OnBarsChanged. Both ReleaseSymbol ClearSymbolCache are ineffectual.

Alternatively, how could the lHandle parameter in same event be used to differentiate among symbols for which quotes/history are data trickling through?

I am not sure what you mean by CurrentLinkingSymbol. As for the handle, you should keep a table mapping handles to symbols requested (that lead to that handle being created) to deduce for which symbol the current event refers to.
