  • Backtesting Data

I am trying to do some backtesting on a 15 minute chart using the forex symbol GBP A0-FX. I am able to get the test to work but it only shows me result from about 2 weeks to present. I would like to go back much further and test large amounts of data. How can I do this?

    Thanks,
    Lewis

You do it by setting the Time Template to load the required number of days/bars. eSignal currently provides up to a maximum of 120 days of intraday data. For more information on Time Templates see this article in the eSignal KnowledgeBase.

      Euro Fx

I have another Back testing issue with the euro, maybe you can help shed some light on it for me..

I am trying to Back test eur/usd data and my script buys or sells every hour from the start date and then it sells everything on the last back test day... The system uses 3 Ma's and it buys or sells only when the middle MA is in fact in the Middle.. The trades should exit themselves with a trailing stop, which I now realize that those will not work on the back test, (or do they?)...

      Here is my Program....
