  • Backtesting stock market recommendations

I would like to cover the performance of a portfolio, based on the stock recommendations which are published two times a week in a stockmarket newspaper.

My idea is, to monitor a buy/sell of the a stocks on close one day after the recommendation is published.

The goal is to have a look at the results with the eSignal back testing tool.

So what we had to do generating and testing the portfolio, is: two times a week tell eSignal which stock to buy or sell , the stop loss limit in % and the profit target in % we assume (to be tested which is best).

I am looking forward to the answers from the community.

    Hello helmutw,

A single back testing EFS only tests a strategy on the price history for a single security. You will not be able to have a single EFS include multiple securities in one back test report. If you would like to submit a suggestion to our development team to have this ability considered for future addition, please feel free to send an email to [email protected].
