  • Multiple time frames

    Hi, I have three questions:

I am developping a system that uses past daily closes as well the close of the first hour of today's trading. That is it uses multiple time frames. Is this posible in EFS?

I have a long 3 years woth of hourly data ( in many markets) in ASCII format. Is there anyway to load this up to EFS so as to be able to do a proper backtesting?

Does anyone know of a good portfolio application that works with EFS so as to be able to test many markets as a portfolio and not as individual markets???

Thanks a lot...I appreciate all the help.

It is not possible to use external data in eSignal at this time.

thank a lot...one last questiom do you know if EFS allows for back testing on many stocks at once...that is as a portfolio, so as to be able to see its DDown ect. If not is there any application that can be used together with EFS???

Back testing a portfolio is not possible at this time.
I am not aware of an application that can do it using efs

          ectrader,

Since eSignal does not provide the facilities that you want, may I suggest that you look at Amibroker.

          It has:

          1. Very reasonable one-time price (no monthly "renting" fees).
          2. Porfolio backtesting
          3. Has an eSignal plugin at no extra charge (you have to have an account with eSignal for the data, of course).
          4. You can import your ASCII data and then build any kind of multi-timeframe scan you like.

I've found it to be the perfect complement to what eSignal has to offer. I use eSignal for my real-time trading and Amibroker for secondary charting and backtesting.

[disclaimer: just a happy customer of both products]
