Strategy.setStop

I'm looking though my strategy report and I see profitable trades exited with 'Stop Order'. This should not be. I did not setup any trail or profit stops. All the stops should be negative! I must not understand the stops or am crazy as usual.

I'm using stopClear and then setStop(close(0)-20)

Hello Geoff,

There are some known issues with the .setStop()/.clearStop() methods. Please review section 1.4.4 from Back Testing Tutorial 1: Introduction to the Strategy Object for additional details.

Back trader bugs

Ahh great sadness! I spent a long time trying to figure that one out. Shoulda read that first. Any idea on when the bugs will be fixed?

Do you or anyone already have a stop/profit target strategy system coded so I could take a look? If not I will be up all night trying to get a decent one going.

P.S. At the bottom of tutorial 1 it says that the 2nd and 3rd tutorials are not available yet. Is this still true?

Please see this thread. You will find some links to several example formulas that illustrate how to code stops and profit targets. As new tutorials are completed they will be published to the KB.
