  • Problem with tick replay on Renko Chart

When I load the formula provided by Alexis in this thread http://forum.esignalcentral.com/show...&threadid=8441 I am getting some strange looking values for the indicators in tick replay on a .05 1 minute Renko chart of OIH,
    (see attached).

Any idea how I can correct this problem?

Is this just a graphical display problem or are the moving average values being plotted incorrectly?

Are the trades signals being generated correct or incorrect?

    Thanks

The issue you are seeing is caused by the studies drifting when they are run in real time on Renko charts.
This is a known issue which has yet to be resolved.
As to the script you reference it did not provide accurate results in a backtest. However this was not because of the drift issue (which has no effect in back testing) but because the strategy was not set up appropriately for use with Renko charts. I have now replaced the original efs with one that is adapted to the way the Renko charts work. Note that the script is still intended for back testing only and not for real time use.

      Alex,

Thanks very much for the response and for modifying the program.

I'm really hoping the problem can be corrected because depending on the strategy logic, when running a strategy realtime I don't have the ability to "reload" it without sending a duplicate order..(discovered that one all by myself!).

Thank you very much, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help you and other generous souls on this forum have so graciously provided
