hello,
Iam trying to create a simple formula using MAs. For example: Buy when the 5day exp MA crosses above the 20 exp MA (set 1), and sell my long position when the 5day exp MA is <= 20 exp MA (set 2).
For some reason it sells the stock when the stock goes below the 5day MA not when the 5day MA goes below the 20MA.. am i doing something wrong??

Try the attached EFS that was created with the Formula Wizard which you can use to open/edit it.
The buy sell are on the Open of the bar following the one that gives the signal. You could change it to Close of the bar that provides the signal with virtually no difference. The formula also places a blue/red dot in correspondence of the crossover points
