  • Global Alert for yesterday's high/low

    Hi

I want to be able to set a global alert for all symbols in a page that will trigger when any symbol has hit either its high or low price for yesterday. Is it possible to set this up using the formula wizard for example? I have no efs experiance.

    Thanks
    Jon

    Hi jmartin,

Our Knowledge Base site have many types of articles that answer several of our client's basic questions on the eSignal software features. Below is a link to one of our articles that will explain how to setup a global alert. Hope this helps.

      Jon,

Let me also add that we don't database "yesterday's high and low" so the built-in alert engine can't alarm off data that's not stored. You can set global alerts for today's high/low or 52 week high/low but not yesterday's data. EFS will have to overcome this same issue but not being an EFS expert, I'm not sure if that's possible or not.

You could do a DDE spreadsheet and move the high/low of today to static previous high/low columns in Excel and then use DDE routines to capture RT data the following day. Just a thought.....

      Thanks.

        Hello Jon,

This alert can be accomplished with the Formula Wizard. However, the formula would need to be running in a chart for each symbol that you want to capture the alert for. To learn more about how to create studies using the Formula Wizard please review our Formula Wizard Guide.
