Paintbar stops painting

I have a paintbar study based on a 4-20 osc. that frequently stops painting. I try and reload and this does not work. I have to remove the study and then add it to the chart.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to why this happens?

From what I'm seeing, looks like the formula is doing what you told it to. I see a possible logic problem that may be causing the formula to behave in an unexpected manner. In set 1 and 2, you are painting the bar green or red on every trade. You then have the bar getting painted yellow only on the first trade where the condition first becomes true. Therefore, the bar only stays yellow on the first trade that meets the condition and is also the last trade for that bar. Perhaps you could describe for me what you wanted the formula to do and we could make the necessary changes.

Your are correct in your description. I want green when going up, red when going down and the yellow bar for transition.

Hello EZ,

Here's an idea for you to try. Because the bars are being painted red or green on every trade, the yellow bars get repainted so that you don't see the yellow after the initial condition becomes true. So, for your transition bars, instead of painting the bars yellow, try drawing a yellow shape on the bar. Once the yellow shape gets drawn it will stay visible, unlike the painting of the yellow bars. Make sense?
