  • getMostRecentXXX Functions returning 0 values

The BidAskVolume.efs study is not working properly for the S&P mini (ES U4). It's not displaying the histogram for the bids, ask, and spread. It only shows the total volume. It works fine for all other securities. What would you recommend?

    Hello All,

There seems to be a problem with the getMostRecentXXX functions at the moment. We're investigating the problem now. Anyone seeing 0s returned on the current bar with formulas using these functions, please post your current build number you're using from Help-->About.

    Thanks,

      v7.6 (Build 636A) 03/29/2004

      can't getMostRecentBid() or ...Ask()

Just started today June 14, but there were no changes to an existing fully functioning esignal system.

Tick download of June 14 AB data runs correctly in tick replay mode.

As for the streaming problem of yesterday, where bid and ask prices were zero, I can only assume that a server-side change was made which caused the getMostRecentBid() and related functions to fail in streaming mode.

Can you let us know what happened, and when the problem should disappear? Is the historical data now correct, as it seems to be?

        TIA

          URGENT

          Jason,
This is a real emergency for me, because the failure of bid/ask makes it impossible for me to trade. Please let me know what the problem is, and when it will be fixed because it's persisting today in AB (eMini Russell 2000), and probably all of the other futures.

            bid/ask problem

            Jason,
Now that the connectivity outage this morning has been resolved, please tell me what I need to do to get the getMostRecentBid() and getMostRecentAsk() functions working again. This is the second day that bid/ask information has been unavailable, afaik.

At least can I know what server changes presumably over the weekend were responsible for this problem?

            Thanks!

              Hello bfry,

I don't have any information as to the cause of the problem yet. Engineering is investigating the problem. As soon as I hear more, I'll let you know.

                Hello All,

Engineering is getting close to finding out the cause of the getMostRecentXXX() functions malfunctioning. We don't have the specifics yet, but we'll know more tomorrow.

                  Hello All,

The problem with the 0 bid/ask values from the getMostRecentXXX functions has been identified. A fix is being worked out and we hope to have it implemented prior to Friday's trading. We'll update this thread in either case on Friday. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

                    It's fixed now...

At this time I can confirm that your fix appears to be working just fine! This applies to AB and ES futures at least.

THANKS for fixing this bid/ask issue from EFS.

                    Great support!

So what was the fix? I see nothing posted.

YM, ES, NQ, INDU, etcetera, are still returning zeroes for me when I attempt to use getMostRecentBid/Ask().

                      - Greg

                          Hello Greg,

The problem was related to a change made on the server side. It wasn't an eSignal version specific problem. That's all the details I have.
