  • PCF to EFS formula conversion..Can anyone help me please?

I'm an absolute beginner to E-Signal and EFS, totally stuck and totally JavaScriptoPhobic so far. Just hoping if someone might be able to help me convert the following simple PCF (Personal Criteria Formula from TCNet) to EFS. Its a CCI based custom formula that I use in conjunction with the standard CCI for crossover studies. Here's the formula:

    (((H+L+C)/3)-((AVGH5+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3)) / (((ABS(((AVGH5+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3) - (H+L+C)/3) +
    ABS(((AVGH5+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3) - (H1+L1+C1)/3) +
    ABS(((AVGH5+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3) - (H2+L2+C2)/3) +
    ABS(((AVGH10+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3) - (H3+L3+C3)/3) +
    ABS(((AVGH10+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3) - (H4+L4+C4)/3) +
    ABS(((AVGH10+AVGL5+AVGC5)/3) - (H5+L5+C5)/3))
    /10)*.015)

I would be very grateful to anyone who can help or point me in the right direction....so would my barber, as he has very little to work with after all the hair tearing!

    6/24/05 Update

Okay buddy, this is my last shot at it unless you start helping more by communicating! If you don't get connected with me on real email or the private email thing, I totally give up. If you don't know the answer to a question I ask, just say so.

The following was verified with a PCF proficient programmer. That doesn't mean it's going to scale in eSignal the same way it does in TC2005 or whatever, but the arithmetic is correct per your input as far as we can tell. I edited it spread out so you can check it for yourself. I did make errors is the first try, this one is all I can do without you TALKING TO ME.

And here is the new file.

      thanks Tex_50

Ok Tex , I have loaded the formula you kindly put together and it seems to be working i.e. crosses in the right places. It is a lot more spikey and jagged as compared with the original pcf, which tends to react less erratically and more 'smoothed out'. In short it does the job correctly, but is more difficlut to read.

I have included a screen capture so you can see what it is supposed to look like.

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner but I have been away. It would be great if we could chat...do you have yahoo chat? If so my nick is del_thomas. If you would prefer another chat venue let me know and I will register.

      Thanks again.

This is a good exercise for me. Your indicator is really a price study or used as a price study overlay.

Interesting, I had talked to that friend and he said this might be the case.

I'm a bit busy just now, but will try to tune it more to your liking. Seems the real answer may be to average the study output against the price. I have a version that does that with much the same output as your picture...

          I'll be in touch.

I have Skype and Paltalk. I'm texas_trader on both.
