  • New Study: 200 DAY Exp. Moving Average Test and 10 Day Exp Moving Average Test

    Hello All:

I am trying to have a script written which will alert me when a stock I have on my watch list that is trading above the 200 Day Exponential Moving Average, retraces back to that average. Additionally, I am looking for a similar scan/script to give me the same when a stock that is trading below the 200 Day Exponential Moving Average and approaches it from below.
Is there a way to have this written for the 10 Day Exponential Moving Average as well please?

I would like to have, if possible, the ability to have my quote screen flash the symbol when any of these criteria are met.

    Thanks,

    Tom

Have you tried using the Formula Wizard to write this efs? The Formula Wizard makes writing scripts such as this one a relatively easy task. Since "approaching" is not really a quantifiable condition you may want to use the Envelope study rather than a moving average. This would provide you with a user definable buffer zone around the average that would need to be breached from above (or below) to trigger the alert(s).
With regards to the flashing Quote Window that cannot be done at this time as efs(s) cannot be used in a Quote Window.
