  • price MACD divergence

I read some old threads (2004) re divergence indicators and found some mention of indicators showing the divergence between price and MACD.

So far I have not found a link to an efs that plots price/MACD divergence.

    Anybody know of one?

    Thanks.

    Hi Bgolf,

I believe Chris Kryza wrote a nice one back in 2003 that was(is) publicly available.

This efs was written to use several different indicators (RSI, CCI or Stochastics) that could be chosen by the user at runtime via the eSignal Edit Studies window. It is a nice reference as well, in that it is high quality code, well commented and written in an easy to understand, well structured manner.

I think this is what you were referring to, so I attached a copy of the efs below. Hope this helps.

      Hi Steve,

Thanks. That is what I was after....although I was looking for MACD.

I put the efs in 3 times and ran the RSI, CCI and Stoch at the same time. They do a confirmation of trend reversal/stall.

The pivot code is really good...could use it elsewhere also. I will try to convert the code for MACD and post it if successful.

You are welcome. Let me know if you need assistance and thanks in advance for the offer to post a version for MACD.

I see this old thread, can someone tell me where to find the final efs code that was discussed?

          Thanks.

            Hi dpace,

I don't believe the modified code was ever posted. I think the source for the modifications to Chris's Divergence2.efs efs were taken from Alex's fisherof[study].efs developed late last year and featured in this post.

The modifications to merge the two are relatively straightforward. I have some time tonight and will make every effort to combine the original studies, the fisherof[study].efs and the Divergence2.efs. Please feel free to try combining them as well. I will post the merged efs in this thread.

Thansk for replying stevehare2003. I am not experienced in efs yet so it would be a great help if you combine them.

                Hi dpace,

I merged the two studies together and attached it to this post. I ran the study through testing yesterday evening. I also added some alert options.
