  • Quasi Elliott Wave Analysis EFS

Can anyone improve on the attached EFS study which uses Turtle Bands to draw lins between extremes to act as quasi Elliott Waves. However I cannot find a way to draw the lines in a complete way from one end to another.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Are you tring to fix this code still?

If you are could you please tell me what you are tring to accomplish. I think what you are trying to do can be done very easily and quickily.

    Thanks

I have solved the problem thank you - but not using the turtle band methodology, instead I used a pivot point method loosely based on Gann using HH-HL & LL-LH pivots with inside days ignored and outside days included in up trend or down trend depending if the close was higher than open. this kind of solution is commercially available from third parties.

There are other solutions using pivot points based on strength, percentages and/or points move which can be found as commercially available products also.

Unfortunately Esignal does not provide any free scripts that I know of which plot pivot points in real time which is a shame.

It is a continual bugbear, that many other charting packages have a wealth of free scripts but more importantly a vast array of built in studies (which in Esignal terms means a huge performance improvement over EFS scripting) which provide many of indicators that most users will want to use rather than trying to code themselves or buy from third parties which in the end are very very slow compared to built in studies.

Hopefully one day Esignal will catch up with having these studies built in, and a much easier to use scripting language (& provides much faster computational performance than now) which is really only useful for intermediate and advanced programmers.

Before anyone gets on my case why I am so critical and should use the other packages, the only reason I stick with Esignal is the superior data integrity & reliability that it offers which is unsurpassed in my experience. That alone is worth the cost of subscription. So I have to grit my teeth as to the lack of decent number of free built in studies.

        try this...

I have developed a pivot code that might work for you. It requires that you email me with your esignal user ID (to activate it). email [email protected]

This is just simple logic to identify pivot points and track them. This might be close to what you want.

          Brad,

Thanks for posting your script for others to try freely, that is a very nice gesture and much appreciated. I myself am happy with my own script now but I would urge others to try out Brad's code as it should proove useful.

Hopefully one day, Esignal will provide similar as a built in study.

            TT Pivots

            Robert,

I thought I would toss up a screen capture that shows what my application does. I know it is not perfect (in identifying the waves), but it is a good attempt.

This is an ES H4 DAILY chart with my TT Pivots loaded. Of course, locating pivots (as I'm doing) is done with a 1~2 bar delay in locating the current pivot.

              Brad,

We not far off as my script produces the following based on the same instrument you displayed:

                Update

I'm going to post an update of my code later tonight.

I found a way to adapt a "confirmation" of a pivot pattern that could turn into a pretty cool trading system.

Just thought I would let you know.
