  • The magic 55 EMA for entries

    Dear eSignal Users:

I "need" to find or develop an alert, such that I am notified when the price action touches or crosses through the 55 EMA. If you will notice, many Elliott Wave 3s and Wave 5s (both shorts and longs) begin on the 55 EMA.

This seems like a relatively easy study to establish an alert for if one is not already available.

Could the moderator or other please advise.

    Thank you,

    Dollarquest

The Magic 55 EMA - for Alex M.

    Alex,

One of the managers at eSignal suggested that I get in touch with you.

I posted twice on the new studies (efs) area but then realized that you monitor this section.

I am in dire need of an alert system for:
    1. Price touches or crosses of the 55 EMA and
    2. MA crossover of the 13 EMA and the 55 EMA

If need be I will pay you or someone else to program the study(ies).

Thank you in advance for your help.

          Guys,

You may want to try the strategy wizard to code that as it may be alot easier then you think.

In the formulas/backtesting folder there is a simple price cross moving average backtesting sample that you can also modify althought that would require using the EFS editor to code some statements.

IMHO, whether a moving average crossover systems makes money may be a function of how strongly the market is trending rather then the actual numbers chosen. In strong trending markets many combinations will make money, in non-trending markets fewer.
