Is there a way to chart just the ADX without the DMI +/-? I dont use them (I have hidden them from sight) but I do use the ADX. I am trying to eliminate any wasted drains on my CPU, Ram and Inet. Tx.

Trend,
You can edit the ADX/DMI settings by right clicking in the chart -Edit Studies - DMI Study and uncheck the boxes for + DI - DI.

That would eliminate them from posting the calculated variables on a chart but they would still be calculated by the EFS. I want to eliminate them totally and thus eliminate that drain. I know it may seem minor but if you saw the desktop I run with al the custom algorithm's you would understand why I need to eliminate all drains. Tx.

Trend,
You can check Wells Wilders book but I think to calculate ADX you need to first calculate +DI and -DI.

You are right - The ADXR is a measure of the spread between the Directional Indicators (+DI and -DI). When the ADXR is declining, it's not advised to use a trend following system. However, a rising ADXR signals that the dominant trend is likely to continue.
Ow well was worth a shot. Thanks.
