    Does anyone have a file showing how to work out floor traders pivots? Including R-1, R-2 and R-3?

    Thanks very much.

    Please check out Chris Kryza's Pivot Console. This is available at http://share.esignal.com/groupconten...ts&groupid=114

      abaskaran2,

      The attached file plots High, Low, Close, Pivots (S5 through R5), and 50% mid-points. Change the time setting on line 203 for your time zone and instrument traded. (As-is, the 1330 file is set for index futures market close (RTH settlement) in the Pacific time zone.)

      If you use the Kryza pivot console mentioned below, note that the calculation of S3/R3 is incorrect.

        I didn't realize my R3/S3 values were incorrect. What is the correct formula?

          Chris,

          The S3/R3 formulas are:

          R3 = (P + R2) - S1; or (P - S1) + R2; same result.
          S3 = (P - R2) + S1; or P - (R2 - S1); same result.

          Some pivot formula links:

          http://www.pivotpointbuddy.com/ (used to have pivot formulas from S5 through R5, but now just has calculator.)

          In edit: If anyone uses that PivotPointBuddy calculator, be aware that it calculates on the all-session HLC and not the RTH HLC.

            Thank you very much. I agree that R3 is not right.

            Would appreciate it very much if you would be kind enough to change it.

            From a trading perspective R3 is a big key to me as I day trade the SP and
            ES futures and I know that the biggest money I make ( normally only on 2
            days per month or so) in on days that the market trends and R3 becomes a big
            key level to get out!

            Thanks for your assistance.

            Angelo

              Thanks very much. I made the change and posted a new version of the PivotConsole script to the File Share area.

                ES U3 & Pivot Consel

                Chris:

                The Pivot Consel works on every chart EXCEPT ES U3 where I cannot see any Support and Resistance lines?

                DO you have the same problems with this?

                Please advise.

                  Sorry for the delay in getting back to you... I didn't see your message until now. No, I don't have any problems when using Pivot Console with ES U3... is this still an issue for you?

                    Chris:

                    Thank you very much.

                    Sorted it out. It was a problem with Esignal as it was screwing up on that
                    day. It works fine now.

                    By the way I really love your pivot counsel. Has made my trading 100% better
                    honestly.
